Looks like it doesn't allow external IRs, which if true takes away a lot of the flexibility.I'm not so sure I'll pull the plug to try it, I'll wait around until I see some more demos online and maybe get some testimonials here from some users who might pick it up. Menace seems to be very ease to use, so maybe its worth getting it without a demo as it's fairly priced. X50 has all and plus some nice complementary stuff such as filters and it sounds very good. When you have so many IRs to pick from then it becomes a problem. For high-gain that usually means: TS -> Amp -> IR of choice. The problems with virtual amp systems are 1 - picking good IRs and 2 - making the whole thing work and sound convincing.
I think the amp part is quite easy as amps aren't overly complicated things. I'm not a guitarist as well but I got around that and can dial some tones that I'm happy with.
